I'm switching over from Cubase SX 2 to Cakewalk Sonar 5 Producer Edition to finish up the recording and mastering of Malpractice. Sonar 5 is not quite as intuitive as I've found Cubase to be, and I just like the way Cubase does certain things better...but, ultimately, Sonar 5 is a LOT more powerful in many aspects, starts up quicker and manages resources better, and is just an allaround more thorough tool for composing and producing.

Also, it has this awesome vocal processor that will let me shred my voice to ribbons. Expect the most hideous vocals imaginable. And I'm not talking that grunting and groaning death metal shit--I couldn't do that for more than 3 seconds without coughing up my vocal cords. No, folks...I'm talking stuff that sounds like the vocal mutilations on a Venetian Snares album taken to abject extremes. Yikes.
