Now, I know this is a story from the UK, but it could seriously happen here:

Student accused of assaulting academics.

Apparently, UK students dissatisfied with grades and whatnot have taken to giving their profs a little of the ol' chin-music and the even ol'er threats of violence.

I would like to see some fucker pull that shit with me. Not only would I fail his ass on the spot, he'd be facing charges in under ten seconds. Or, if worse really comes to worst--which it could, considering how ineffectual the Fayette County police are--I'd just crowbar his knees and cripple him for life.

the problem is its true, your superiors rarely support or take seriously any stalking or other threats from students

I saw this happen even more frequently when I was still in high school

Oh, man--in my time I've known quite a few of those "self-serving intellectual light-weights" who really deserved a kick in the shins...not so much because they were cockblocking me from achieving my dream of barely squeaking by on an adjunct teacher's salary (ha!), but because they believed their tenure and/or "academic standing" entitled them to a petty sort of power over students. I didn't resort to physical violence, however: I just wrote wrings awround them and, when necessary, dragged them through interminable grade justification procedures, which they always backed down from. Petty tyrants are easy to handle: you don't need to bust 'em in the mouth, you just call them on their game--once you challenge someone like that, they almost always crumble.
