Words of Wisdom from John Prine
Feb. 19th, 2004 02:35 amFather forgives us for what we must do
You forgive us, we'll forgive you
We'll forgive each other 'til we both turn blue!
Then we'll whistle and go fishin' in heaven.
--"Fish and Whistle," by John Prine.
I can't think of a better way to spend my time in the afterlife....Sitting on the bank of a skycolored pond, trailing a fishing line in the glass-smooth water, propped up in a lawnchair with my feet in the cool grass, a little boombox next to me playing some old bluegrass or Skinny Puppy (you know, they're interchangeable) or maybe Mazzy Star, and a laptop propped up on my....uhh, lap, while I write page 10,002 of my Complete History of All Things Spooky and Weird.
You know....I've been there, come of think of it. It's called Ohiopyle. Man, I can't wait for the weather to heat up a little now....
