oneirophreniaSo my buddy Mike called me today and persuaded me to abandon the grading for a little bit in order to go out and see The Last Samurai, which I'd actually been wanting to see since I first heard about it.
It is a beautiful, beautiful film.
Contemporary Japanese culture actually scares me, it's so damned weird. But classical Japanese culture has to be the most elegant and enlightened this planet has ever produced--matched only by the ancient Egyptians'.
