Sep. 1st, 2005 06:39 pmIn the wreckage of New Orleans, mobs are no longer just looting for perishables, medicines, and other necessities of survival. Looting for such things is smart. Looting for 20" plasma TVs and other such comparatively useless shit is just stupid.
National Guard helicopters attempting to HELP people are being shot at.
Gangs have taken over the convention center and are, apparently, beating and raping refugees.
Stranded tourists trying to make their way to safety are being preyed upon.
....Just how many times in the past few years have I said that even in a so-called "civilized" country like the US it doesn't take but a single disaster to bring out the absolute worst in people?
Quite frankly, I support declaring marshal law. At this point, it's necessary. It's open season on assholes in New Orleans, and were I down there and spotted ANY fucking piece of shit "human" preying upon innocent, possibly injured, and certainly traumatized, displaced, and desparate people, I would shoot that motherfucker on sight, be that person black, white, male, female, young, old, awake or asleep. People who would do this kind of shit are not human and do not need to be afforded the rights that real humans deserve. They should be shot without question and their bodies stacked up to create temporary levees or waterbreaks, as that is really all they are good for.
