I just got back from the Bitter Valentine's Day celebration at Ceremony, and I must say: [livejournal.com profile] missjoi and [livejournal.com profile] illusion_of_joy...y'all done went and rocked my arse to the point of exhaustion. I will finish this entry and then promptly pass out. I haven't danced so much at Ceremony in quite some time...but, hey, when folks are playing James and Portishead and Curve and the like, what's a fellow to do but shake his groove thang and shout "That is My Jam(tm)!" repeatedly?

I will say one thing about tonight: Thanks to the great music being played, I danced out the last of the putrid bitterness and nastiness that last year left curdling in my veins. Oh, I will still mine it for literary and musical inspiration--I mean, c'mon...I am a horror writer and composer of viciously monstrous music, so what better to fuel my creative process?--but in terms of that crud hanging over my like a permanent black cloud, soaking me in cold wet nastiness and casting a filthy shadow over my every thought and move...well, that's done. As of right now, as I am writing this, that crap is permanently in the past.

Ladies and gentlmen, let us have a round of applause for our good friend katharsis!

Now I shall pass out.

I missed out, mostly because I'm tired, overloaded, and ended up watching Lost in Translation on DVD. Say meow to Sobriety for me. ^^

Lost in Translation....Truly one of the best films I've seen in ages. Bill Murray doing the karaoke version of "More Than This" by Roxy Music was just...awesome. It was almost touching and sad...until I remembered: wait a second, this is Bill Murray. Ergo, it is hysterical!

Last night was fun, sure, but no doubt the show tonight will be a lot cooler. I've been wanting to see the Dresden Dolls for a while now, TSN will be awesome as always, and Curses! is *completely cool*. Bella Morte's allright, too--not my favorite band in the world, but they really put on a great live show, and they are some of the nicest fellas in the world.
