Well, I've done it.
HPL has his own scholarly Wetpaint wiki: I Am Providence.
The aim of this wiki is simple: it's designed to be a one-stop-shop for information concerning Lovecraft criticism and scholarship--not info on Call of Cthulhu games, Re-Penetrator, or even Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos. This is a site BY Lovecraft scholars for Lovecraft scholars...though, obviously, with enough useful information to appeal to anyone, as well!
The reason I went with Wetpaint on this project rather than, say, Wikibooks or any other site is simple: Wetpaint is a very basic wiki package with a very intuitive, easy-to-use, WYSIWYG editing system that will make it extremely easy for scholars to contribute material. Right now, the site is extremely scanty on information, but I have the basic layout designed....It's just time to get people contributing. I'll be advertising this site on every HPL and Gothic/horror/sci-fi-lit mailing list, forum, and website I can come upon in the next month or so. It's going to be a massive amount of work, but the 'net needs something like this, and I'm the man to do it.
So...any of you freaks interested?
greygirlbeast and
z0mb1e, I'm sure you'll have something to add sooner or later. :) But for now, at least take a look at the welcome/home page and the basic editorial policy sketched out there and let me know what you cats think, eh? And while you're at it, get ready for new Nyarlathotep tracks coming your way shortly. You'll be astonished with what we're doing these days. It sounds like Black Tape for a Blue Girl getting beaten senseless by Skinny Puppy and Delerium.
