Going Out, Going Home

Went to Ceremony this evening for the first time in a while. It was quite pleasant--I got to see a number of my old friends, including Dave, Ray, Jamie, Dustin, and so forth, and also got to dance to some Skinny Puppy and The Rapture and some oldskool goth-rock--but now I'm bushed and ready to pass out here on the couch at Shadyhaus. Heh. Admittedly, I did have a few beers, and some tequila...but I was in no way UltraDrinking(tm)--something that I am no longer in any way capable of--but after the previous night's six or seven Woodchucks, I'm all about keeping it lowkey. Still, any booze intake, however, leaves me all sleepy and sluggish at the end of the night.

Tomorrow...I go home. *Le sigh* Back to the bloody grind of paper after paper after paper--BUT! I'm cutting myself off at 8pm regardless of whether or not I get through them all. I can finish the remaainder easily at school the next day; I reserve the rest of Sunday night to watching Godzilla movies, playing old Atari games emulated on my computer, and--speaking of Atari stuff--finishing up the four or five Retarded Atari songs I'm working on!

This weekend was alltogether very enjoyable and relaxing. I spent my time in wonderful company (you know who you are! ;)), played Mario Kart, got extremely caffeinated and fairly drunx0red as well, hit up the Record Exchange and further added to my CD addiction, and...uhhh, just generally chilled out very nicely after a hectic week.

Ohyeah, and addendum to self: Look for Schoolhouse Rock song, "Little Twelvetoes," online tomorrow. Somebody somewhere has to have an mp3 of this song--and I must have it! I sense a cover coming upon me....

There is like, a... a spinny sound in that song. I can't think of what instrument it is. Percussion of some kind... It's the coolest thing in the whole song.

Hmmm....spinny percussion sound....Could be a guiro or a washboard--two of my alltime favorite percussion sounds! I'm a big percussion freak in general, so this only increases my potential for loving that song. :)

And as to getting seriously drunkified...well, as long as you didn't wake up with your head in the toilet or facedown in an alleyway covered in chicken feathers and gum, then it's nothing to be ashamed of! Hehehehe.

Arrrgh...yeah so I spaced out on you on Saturday. Gah, and I later remember that you were standing directly behind me after I ordered my first drink for the night. Admittedly, I shouldn't have gone out, being as sick as I was...and my luck only made matters worse. UltraDrinking? Um...yeah. Kinda hard to avoid when the bartender bought most of my drinks for the evening. Free=good.

I was a bit spaced out myself, though....I certainly wasn't UltraDrinking(tm), but I *was* a bit under the influence--and my buddy Dustin was babbling about all manner of videogame-related goofiness, so naturally I was all wrapped up in that. Next time just reach over and smack me and say, "Hey!"
