oneirophreniaElectric Six are, beyond any shadow of a doubt, one of my favorite bands. Everyone knows and loves their best-known jam, "Gay Bar"--you know, The "I WANNA TAKE YOU TO THE GAY BAR, GAY BAR, GAY BAR!" song--but the other tracks on their debut album, Fire, are just as good...if not, in some cases, actually better! One of the highlights for me is the song "Synthesizer," which, besides being one of the best New Wave songs ever written after 1988, also has some of the coolest lyrics ever.

Yep. There you have it, boys and girls--The Jam of the Hour(tm). The coolest thing about this song is that it mixes perfectly into Thomas Bangalter's "Spinal Scratch" from his soundtrack to Irreversible. This I discovered entirely by accident when I set my gigantomungous playlist on random play and the computer somehow decided that it was a superstar DJ by running the end of "Synthesizer" into "Spinal Scratch." Totally Fresh.
Now--back to the usual grading. Fortunately, I'm almost done...and then I'm gonna finish some of those damned Retarded Atari songs whilst watching Godzilla movies and pretending to be Superstar Kaiju Synthesizer Master.
