The New Wave continues....
Aug. 11th, 2004 04:02 pmYou know, it really does my half-mechanical heart good to know that there is still great New Wave music kicking around out there. Recently, I've been listening to a lot of stuff by:
The Killers
I Am The World Trade Center
The Hong Kong
The Faint
Broken Spindles (a Faint side-project)
!!!
...and, of course,
My Favorite
The Pulsars (as always)
The Good Life
B! Machine
Cosmicity
and a wide range of other contemporary Newer Wave acts whose names escape me now, mainly because I'm probably not as fond of their stuff as I am of the material listed above. I am completely in Liebe with the Killers album Hot Fuss, which sounds so much like 1984 it ain't even funny....Imagine The Cars crossed with postpunk, Gary Numan, and Missing Persons (minus the chick vocalist), and you have The Killers.
I really need to get back into DJing, dammit.
