My new Anime Crush

Princess Ai.

I'm not a big manga fan, mind you--I find a lot of it to be completely, awesomely stupid, trite, and annoying. I love manga art, but sequential  art without a half-decent storyline behind it is just windowdressing. At least the new Princess Ai has a storyline that is actually pretty cool: Chick from another universe drops onto earth and becomes a singer, and therefore has to deal with fame and all that crap while being pursued by demons from her homeworld.

The interesting is...the series concept was developed by Courtney Love. I'm kind of wondering if this means Ai is going to end up strung out on heroine and crystal meth and fucking demons in alleyways just to pay the monkey on her back. I mean, why the hell do you think I'm reading this?!

(Side note 1: I find it interesting that Ai looks like a lot of people I know, and her attitude is sooooooooo much like my girlfriend's it's scary.)

(Side note 2: I still wish the whole Gothic Lolita style would kick in over here already, gods damn it.)
