The Exhaustion Roundup
Dec. 5th, 2004 11:41 pmI still have some papers left to grade tonight, but I need to take a break right now before my face slams right into the desk when I pass out. My body literally feels as though every last drop of life has been sucked out of it...which makes a certain amount of sense today, because last night I got hit with a pretty severe migraine at the end of the night. As usual, I passed right out, but whenever a migraine rapes my brain I always feel wonky and out-of-sorts the next day--but, honestly, I feel worse today than I think I've felt in ages.
I think it's high time I run this past my doctor. I don't even remember the last day that past which I didn't end in complete and utter exhaustion--even days when all I've done is sit around and grade papers after a looooooooong night's sleep. I'm beginning to get a bit concerned here, because I didn't used to be this way: but since the beginning of the semester, I've been slowly grinding slower and slower every day. I know a big part of it is the fact that since I have to be up at 9am most days but work 'til 1am, I'm just not getting my usual amount of sleep...but that can't explain everything. Being a little sleepy a few days out of the week makes sense, sure, but feeling like I'm ready to pass out at any moment? That's not right.
Also, my goddamned shoulder is hurting very bad again, so I'd better get some more Relafen to kill the inflammation and some goddamned Vicodin for the pain. Luckily, the semester is ending now, so I don't have to worry about being lost in a Vicodin haze now. That's cool...because if I can stay awake, I'll be so blitzed I'll be able to make really, really good dark ambient music.
