oneirophreniaOK. It's official. From here on out, almost all of my future HPL Labs releases will be licensed via Creative Commons. And they will be distributed primarily in electronic form via "Virtual CDs," though of course there will still be actual CD versions as well for those who are interested.
There will be certain exceptions, of course: If we do any future releases through Subterranean Press (as I'm sure we will), we'll of course work with Bill from SubPress on how exactly he wants us to handle this, depending on what his needs or requirements are. Also, other artists on HPL Labs, such as Illusion of Joy, are welcome to use Creative Commons licensing or traditional copyright laws--this is entirely their choice.
But as for me...CC, all the way.
I just want my stuff heard, and enjoyed, by the sick, weird fucks Out There who dig this kind of stuff.
Music's my hobby. A very important hobby to which I dedicate a huge amount of time, but...I long ago realized that I'll never get rich doing the kind of stuff I do. That's why I have a real job. Well, actually, three or four of them. All I really want from my music is recognition. If someone wants to throw some cash my way, great! I certainly won't dissuade them. But...ultimately, if you hear my stuff and like it, and use it to torture your neighbors or roommates by playing it an insane volumes late at night, then I'm perfectly happy.
