"This is total, total chaos."

The day will NEVER come that I wait in line for days and then beat someone senseless with a folding metal chair for a $50 iBook. But, I guess, people MUST have their data connectivity! Too bad they were fighting over near-useless old iBooks. Now, if they were more recent iBooks, with...sayyyyyy, more than 128megs of RAM, I might consider at least waiting around for an hour or two and maybe cussing at someone.

People never cease to amaze me with their idiocy. When I first heard of this incident, however, I actually pictured a bunch of goofy hipsters with pockets stuffed with iPods and Shuffles getting into a tussle in front of the Apple Store. :)

while i don't see myself using a folding chair as a weapon, i would probably have been in this crowd. my 6-year-old laptop just sputters along, and upgrading to a 4-year-old imac sounds like a dream. how lame is that?!

The other issue is that these were cheap working computers in, from what I've gathered about posts at digg.com, a pretty rural area. While I imagined people pushing and shoving, I didn't think it would come to violence.

I don't know how rural it is since I haven't been down that way, but I mean it was at a NASCAR raceway. Draw your own conclusions. :)

It was pretty amusing -- they had a bunch of call-ins on the radio this morning from "survivors" and witnesses. That was also the first I'd heard about it, and I couldn't stop cracking up.

It may not have been. I just gathered this from people's comments on digg. Either way, it was infreakinsane... the best part is people are now selling them on eBay. They're also selling some great t-shirts.

Holy crap was that a funny article. I mean, the violence wasn't cool...but damn, is it just me or did anyone else laugh out loud at the sheer insanity of this situation?!
