Outlook can suck my fucking dick.

oneirophreniaThis happened to me before. I did not expect it to happen to me again--but be varned, all of you: Microsoft Outlook is a bug-ridden piece of worthless dog shit.
I was plotting out the last four days of my classes, when, as I entered the details for December 2nd or 3rd or whatever into my first appointment window of the day, guess what happens? The entire appointment series vanished. Apparently, it's still "in there" someplace, but I can't find it: I can't access it to revise anything, to add new dates or information, anything like that--it is for all intents and purposes gone. Then, progressively, one by one, all my other appointments vanished, too. Again, they're still "in there" somewhere, but I can't access any of them.
I very nearly put my fist through my laptop's screen. Six weeks of work GONE. I did knock most of the keys off of it when I threw it across the room, but I can put those back on later....
I will never use Microsoft Outlook again as long as I fucking live. And I am seriously considering mailing pipebombs to the development team.
In the meantime...I can at least see the stuff I've already entered, so I can easily enter it again into another PIM of some sort. I am currently shopping around for one. I may have found one, a nice little freeware app called EssentialPIM, that works almost exactly like Outlook but allows for a number of other nifty features...and it's free. There's a "professional" version available for $20 that I might go for, but I'm going to hold off on that until I check out all possibilities. Anyway, suggestions?
And don't even say iCal or Mozilla Sunbird, as I've messed around with both and can confidently say that they are both clunky, unbelievably limited pieces of garbage whose developers were clearly retarded.
