Iron & Wine / Calexico - In The Reins

This has got to be one of the most beautiful folk-rock albums I have ever heard. It's...like, Iron & Wine meets Ennio Morricone. Sam Beam's wonderful voice and some guy's Mexican (I think) yodel. Pedal steel, slap bass, banjo, harmonicas, and an old drum kit that sounds ready to fall apart. THIS is fucking country music, people. It makes you wanna drink. HARD. And confounds you with the sheer arrid, pitiless beauty of the malpais. This could well be the soundtrack to Cormac McCarthy's new novel, No Country for Old Men.
mathematical, take note: you need this album RIGHT NOW. Ohyeah, and you need everything by the Handsome Family, too.
