Gone by 2040
Oct. 13th, 2005 09:42 pmForeign Policy Online has an interesting little collection of articles online detailing institutions and ideas that they believe will be gone by 2040. It makes for some fascinating, though sometimes farfetched, reading.
Monogamy, the Euro, the Chinese Communist Party, and auto emissions are some of the things whose days are numbered.
But they don't mention old, unaugmented "natural" humans, which...if I have any handle in it...will be close to extinct by 2040, the last examples of non-upgraded "humans" being kept in small private collections and zoos in various little enclaves throughout the world, clustered for heat around the ankles of the great machines' cooling towers.
