Pain, HPL, Numan
Oct. 18th, 2005 11:10 pmChrist. Today's been the worst day for this goddamned fibromyalgia since...May, I think. Oy. I just need to tell myself it comes and it goes--it's comin' right now, but soon it will be goin'...much like my wang. Wait. Did I say that out loud? Shite.
Anyway, check out this freshness! Next Wednesday I'm being brought in for the first time to lecture on HPL at the Horror in Lit class at Cal U! This presentation is gonna be the bizzy-bomb, let me tell you. First of all, Dr. Pathak is introducing me as the resident expert on Lovecraft, which makes my head feel gigantic and awesome. But I'm going to hit the students up with all they need to know about HPL: his bio, his work, and the influence his work has had on succeeding generations. Believe me, John Carpenter's The Thing will definitely be brought up!
And finally...I've been encouraged to write a short play for a competition at Cal U. I'm doing Replicas, a dramatic version of Gary Numan's legendary album Replicas. There will be a character based on Numan himself, a "Friend," and a machman. Guess who I'm playing?
