Now for some REAL stupidity.
Nov. 9th, 2005 07:25 amIt's bad enough Kansas school boards think they know more about science than actual scientists.
Now they think they know more about the scientific method.
I quote:
This is the most moronic thing I've ever encountered. We're not talking about a little sticker in the front of biology textbooks here (something that even I would practically overlook)--we're talking about a bunch of slack-jawed yokels legislating that the scientific method must admit the possibility of supernatural explanations.
Well, then. Just remember that every physics teacher should be required to let students know that physics is "just an interpretation" and that, say, electrical phenomena are all actually caused by Thor. Chemistry classes must all be informed as well that most simple organic reactions are actually powered by Marduk--and while we're at it, let's not forget that every shop class should also note the beneficence of Hephaestus.

In addition, the board rewrote the definition of science, so that it is no longer limited to the search for natural explanations of phenomena.
