I know you want to but you can't stay in.

OK. I've definitely listened to that damn "Gay Bar" song one too many times, because now I'm quoting George Michael. Well...it just so happens that I really like George Michael, too, so that does make the process a good bit easier. But I digress.

I've managed to actully Go Outside and drag myself away from the computer for a bit today, as I had to return some DVDs to the Hollywood Video and drop off a revised W4 form at the newspaper. The dumbshits there apparently lost the revised W4 I turned in a year ago and have been using the older-than-old one...which means I'm going to be owing the fucking government some change this year. Fortunately, not much--but the fact that all this rigamarole could've been avoided if only those stupid old farts who run the Herald-Standard's finances had paid attention to the dates on my W4 forms.

Regardless, though, it gave me the opportunity to zip down the highway with the window down and Severed Heads' "Greater Reward" 12" mix from Bulkhead (truly one of the greatest driving songs of all time) blasting. The mid-'60s are the perfect operating temperature for me. If the world would never get any hotter or cooler than this, I would be perfectly happy.

Alas, now it's back to the usual Monday-afternoon grind now. Ohwell, it'll be over soon and then I can just go back to sleep!

i somtimes wonder if midterm is worse for the students or the teachers... its quite an experience always being on both sides of the coin. on the one side students dont have to grade papers but they have to do outlandish assignments... on the other side its fun to give students impossible tasks and somtimes highly creative things to do but it really sucks when you have to grade everything in the end...

wheeee midterm.... i need a vacation so badly i can feel my soul rotting

I could totally go for a vacation right now, too, but...hell, Penn State's got me buried up to my neck in papers--including stuff for *other* classes since I'm helping to go over midterm performance evaluations for other teachers. *Le sigh*

Ohwell. Smooth sailing on the horizon.
