So, here we go, folks: the big recounting of what all happened over the weekend! Sit down, buckle up, and grab the oh-shit bars.

Being that the semester is finally completely over (more or less: see below for further details), I'm now only working at the newspaper--which means that I'm done after Wednesday...and can hightail it to Pittsburgh on Thursday. Which is just what I did. I got see Jeremy and Lily at Das Shadyhaus for a bit, before they left for Foo and Megan's wedding down in Louisville, Kentucky--an event that I wish I could've made it to, but I simply must save up as much as possible for the Skinny Puppy Roadtrip of June. Anyway, after that, I got to see Vanessa again, which prettymuch made my day. I had to drop off [livejournal.com profile] raincrystal's poetry anthology at the Kinko's in Oakland to get it printed (which they totally fucked up, but more on that later), then Vanessa and I went to Dick and Andy's and Andy Dick's or whatever the homemade icecream place on Atwood is called--I can never remember the actual name.

Friday, [livejournal.com profile] eternal_hlessi and [livejournal.com profile] mirvana and a few others went out to Vanessa's place of business, the Evergreen, and hung out there. Cool place. Very, in fact. Honestly, it reminded me a lot of some of the old places I used to hang out at in Uniontown: lots of varnished wood trim, a big bar stocked with cheap liquor, a pool table and a filthy little can--but, naturally, the presence of nearly-naked women lifts it above the common run of such places. I must say...Vanessa is probably the best dancer I've seen in ages--the girl can Work It(tm) like no other...definitely no other at the Evergreen. She'd warned me about the one chick named Dallas, but I regret to say that I did not heed said warnings as thoroughly as I should've. When that beast took the stage I honestly though it was a joke...but then the clothing started coming off and my eyes just clamped shut to save me the trauma. Truly, folks, I talk no shit unless it is entirely deserved, and in this case it most definitely is deserved. I really dislike people whose snotty attitudes literally sweat from their pores and wiggle in their every movement like some kind of bizarre psychic cellulite. Despite the dampening presence of that hosebeast, though (who, thank the gods, never tried to come up to us and strike up a conversation or anything), it was a great time nonetheless and seeing Vanessa dance to ohGr's "HiLo" is just an experience that I can guarandamntee you shall not vanish from memory anytime soon.

I slept so late on Saturday it was surprising. I think I finally sort of oozed out of bed around...3? I mean, we all know that Mr. Pegritz can sleep, but that was impressive even for me. I didn't hear from [livejournal.com profile] raincrystal that day about getting together to get her the poetry anthologies I had printed for her--which is good, actually, because I discovered that Kinko's jacked them up by rearranging four entire pages. Don't ask me how they did that, but it happened....Anyway, Vanessa and Kristi and I went out to Century III to do a bit o' shopping--and then I realized it was almost 8...which made me realize I'd mostly missed [livejournal.com profile] beeporama's and [livejournal.com profile] dorothymonkey's margarita party. Ohwell. Need to cut back on my Cuervo intake for a bit. My stomach's starting to tell me to lay off for a while....Went to Ceremony that night, and had a blast. I got to see my old boy Brian Stahl and Dave and some other folks, but mostly it was just great to hang out with Vanessa more and rock it out to the oldskool goth and industrial that Mick and Case were playing. [livejournal.com profile] siliconedreamer showed up at the end of the night, having just returned from working with Harvard's A.R.T. program in Boston, and we all went out to Eat n' Park to hit up the breakfast buffet and dilute the amount of alcohol in our bloods with grease! I feel bad that [livejournal.com profile] siliconedreamer had so much trouble getting a cab at the end of the night in Lawrenceville, though--next time, man, no matter how tired I am, I'm giving yo' ass a ride.

Sunday...more sleep. Got up around 3 again. Sorry I missed your graduation party, [livejournal.com profile] ancilla, but I was so beat. Spent the day with Vanessa and aRvin, ate lots of Thai food and went out for icecream. Very relaxing, in other words. Didn't get back into Uniontown until nearly 2am or so. (Now here's where I get ultragothy:) It was hard to part from Vanessa, but...well, I'm only out of town for three days. And a little anticipation always makes things more worthwhile--gives me something to think and dream about at work. Always makes the night go faster.

Anyway, I can't wait until it's Thursday again.

So, in additional news, I need to get Marie's poetry anthology reprinted (which will be easy: it was only $38 to begin with, and since Kinko's funked up they're eating the cost of the reprinting). Plus, now that I have the deferred-grade sessions organized with those two students, I can get the ball rolling on that as well. I just need them to return my phonecalls and let me know if they're going to be able to do it now. If not, welcome to the wonderful world of The F.

Time to go to work now and do the do, make the dollar-signs, and sleep! I'll also be doing some writing (both prose and music), and probably finish up the Ligotti book The Nightmare Factory for the 90th time as well. Woot!

Heh. I don't know *why*, but I can NEVER remember the damn name of the place! I always get it confused with Dave and Buster's, I think....Remember: I have a small brain.
