Pegritz on BoingBoing.net / Orion's Arm
Aug. 18th, 2005 02:39 pmI recommended Orion's Arm to the good folks at , and it's now featured on their site. Check it out!
I spent at least three hours last night digging through the Orion's Arm backstory/development system. It's freakin' extraordinary! Most collaborative on-line sci-fi commuinities or shared-world systems are pretty awful, Farscape-esque dumbness involving FTL, humanoid aliens, and other such complete bullshit. But OA is 100% based in hard science, and some of the development is clearly being done with people who are not only interested in serious transhumanism but also backgrounds in hard sci-fi, planetology, cosmology, speculative xenobiology, and so forth. I suspect I'll be doing a LOT of work with this project in the future.
