This is just going to be a fairly quick update because, well, I'm sitting here in the Beehive, running a little low on power, and just generally don't feel like writing a lot since, right now, I'd rather be off drinking somewhere. Heh. That happens.

Anyway, here we go: Skinny Puppy in Philly was fucking amazing--maybe even a little more amazing than the Chicago show, primarily because they did more encores: "Testure," "Convulsion," and "Smothered Hope." Otto von Schirach opened and, man, was he incredible. That man is definitely on crack, and I was surprised that a much larger number of the little gothy kids in the audience than I'd anticipated were getting into his stuff. They really ate up his bugged-out sense of humor, and the skittery insane beats. Tweaker was amazing again, as well, and now I own their new album as well, and it is Most Cool(tm). The afterparty at Shampoo was cool, but that place is way too crowded for my tastes and way too expensive. Fuck you and your $4.50 Yuenglings, Shampoo. At least I got to dance to Wolfsheim's "Wunderbar" and some oldskool goth-rock. Vanessa had a wonderful time, too, which was great--I love seeing her happy. :)

It was great seeing <lj user="mathematical"> again, too, and crashing at his place. I wish we could've stayed longer to BS some more...but I'll no doubt be swinging through Philly again sometime in the near future, so.... I must remember to bug him continually about getting me some samples of his music to either master and compile, or use for Nyarlathotep sounds--you hear me, Aaron? Don't make me come back out there with a crowbar!

Driving out to Philly and back with <lj user="doktorvox"> in his Warhorse stationwagon was completely bitchin', too.

And...let's see...tomorrow is my birthday. I really don't think I'm going to be ultradrinking as I'd originally anticipated, as my stomach does not like me drinking anymore, and, besides, I got pretty hammered at the Skinny Puppy show. MY GOD, the drinks at the Electric Factory are strong--and comparatively cheap. Fuck you again, Shampoo.

OH! One last thing: <lj user="z0mb1e">, I'll get your poster in the mail on Monday. It kind of vanished somewhere in my car, and just turned up today. Heh.

Hey stranger....

Thanks! I'm sorry we didn't get to hang out more on Wednesday, but by the time I saw you I was dazed from being hit in the face, about to pass out, and the amount of adrenaline in my blood stream made me all cracked out.

That show was fucking amazing and I can't wait to see them again on the fall tour. With fucking Al and Paul.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.50$ for a beer sounds like a decent price compared to the 10$ drinks at the Skinny Puppy show in New York !!! though I was almost crapping myself with excitement the entire time so it was worth it... call me up sometime on friday or saturday, usually hanging out at Dustin's as usual, 412-812-6716

...and Happy Birthday ... a few days late...
