And since I never seem to be online at the same time as you, check this out -- I was reading about the founder of Bungie studios/producer of Halo who went and formed a new game studio, and their first game is set in 1950s suburban Pennsylvania where you rise from your grave as a zombie. I guess it's sort of like Freedom Fighters in that you can recruit people for your cause...but instead of winning them over with charisma you bite people and turn them into zombies who shuffle around after you and do your bidding. Or you can just crack open heads and eat the brains of people to regain health. And you can tear off your arm and let it go off on disembodied adventures. It has the unfortunate title of "Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse" but totally sounds up your alley...
