Depeche Mode's "Freelove" is, really, the only really good song on the Exciter album (which, despite its title, really isn't very exciting at all)--and it's such a beautiful song. As a matter of fact, I'd say it's probably the loveliest Depeche Mode song of them all. Better even than "Blue Dress." Everything is wonderful about this song: the melody is absolutely gorgeous, the tempo is great for slow-dancing (either vertically or horizontally), the programming and instrumentation are spot on, and the lyrics are just so...lovely. A simple song. Not wildly creative like, say, a lyric by Baudelaire or Byron--but very touching, nonetheless.

I believe I may have to cover this. But if I do it, it's just going to be my voice run through a pitchbender and all manner of FX over top of a simple piano melody and maybe a very lo-fi triphop beat.

If you are ever lonely, or even just bored, or just need someone to talk to for *any* reason, feel free to call me--it doesn't matter how late or how early....My phone is almost always on and *I* am almost always awake. And I have voicemail just in case.

Last night, I dozed off around 2 just because I had to get up for this dang photoshoot today, but otherwise...well, hell, you know me: I'm 98% nocturnal!

I hope all is well today...or, at least, a *little* better.

I'm feeling much better. I managed to squeeze Santa Cthulhu to death and fall asleep, and today I got to see Kill Bill 2, which was AMAZING.

And tonight I think Mike and I are going to have drunken movie night, so all should be good.

Mmmm. Bram Stoker's Dracula *and* drunken movie night! Sounds like a *most* excellent combination for a day/evening of the proper diversions....

The photo shoot went GREAT! We may now all be suffering fom asbestos inhalation, but that's okay, because the shoot at the old cork factory was *incredible*. As soon as I return home tomorrow, I'll be putting a number of the photos online for your perusal....I do believe you will find them *very* interesting!
